How to Organize a Carnival-Themed Kids Party

Games. Food. And lots of fun. If you want all of this rolled in one, you have to organize a carnival-themed party for your kids.

There are a lot of reasons why you should pick a carnival theme for your child’s next celebration. For one, everybody loves carnivals. The theme makes you remember fun times with rides, food, games, bright lights and colors. It is also easy to set up, and you can find a lot of materials in your local department store or online.

A fabulous fair themedΩ birthday party or celebration must have at least four games, easy-to-eat food, a themed cake, and tickets that children can trade for prizes. To help you organize the perfect carnival-themed party, here are some things you can do:

The Invitations

Making carnival-themed invitations is easy, whether you do them yourself or buy ready-made ones online. If you are planning to DIY this part of the party - no problem! For easy design + print method, you can head to Canva and find a lovely carnival-themed template for your invitation. Put your own flair on the design, add your child’s pictures, edit the text, and save it for printing. You can also find ready-made invitations from Etsy or Amazon. It’s as easy as searching, clicking, and adding to cart!

The Decor

The great thing about a Carnival Theme is that you can go big on the decor without going bankrupt! Most of the things you can use are already available in your home, and the ones that are not can easily be found online at a cheap price.

Start with looking for your party banners. If you are going with the basic red and white carnival colors, look for party banners with the same color theme. You can even make your own party banners and flags using red and white craft paper. If you think of a carnival theme with a circus, one great idea is finding animal decors. You can use these animal designs as pop-ups or on center table pieces.

The most important thing is to focus on the following elements:

  • ●Bold and bright primary colors and stripes
  • ●Booths and game stands
  • ●Balls and balloons
  • ●Tickets and prizes

Once you get the basic decors right, you can’t go wrong with this.

The Food

Food is a significant part of a carnival party. When choosing snacks to prepare for the day, you have to choose ones that are easy to prepare and eat. To save you the burden later on, the food must also be easy to clean up.

Your best option is to hire fairy floss and popcorn machines Gold Coast. By renting food machines, you can hand out servings of popcorn and fairy floss, just like in fairs and carnivals. The materials, machines, and ingredients are already prepared by the rental company, so you don’t have to worry about anything. The food containers are also disposable, so you don’t have a hard time cleaning up and washing dishes. Getting fairy floss and popcorn machines Gold Coast is also a good idea if you want to save your time doing other aspects of the party rather than preparing food. Other food ideas include the following:

  • ●Bright colored lollipops
  • ●Ice cream with lots of sprinkles
  • ●Snow cones
  • ●Hot dogs or corn dogs
  • ●Fruit Kabobs
  • ●Veggie Trays
  • ●Sodas and juice boxes
  • ●Cupcakes with Carnival themed toppers
  • ●Animal Cookies
  • ●Pizza squares

The Games

What makes a carnival-themed party are the different games that you can come up with. And what makes this theme special is you get to collect tickets from each game booth so that you can exchange them for items in the prize booth.

First, you have to make game stations or game booths. You can ask adults to man the game booths so that there is someone giving the tickets to the children per game booth. Here are some game ideas you can try:

Balloon Popping Booth

In this booth, you can line up small balloons and give pointed darts to kids. They need to pop a balloon to get tickets.

Photo Booth

Prepare items that the children can use when taking a picture. For example, you can provide wigs, hats, funny cutouts, and other props that will make the picture-taking fun.

Face Painting

Who doesn’t love face painting? Paint flowers, animals, and even food on children’s faces, arms, or legs. You can get a professional face painter for this. Or, you can just purchase child-friendly paints and get artistic yourself! Children who get face paint also get tickets!

Ring Toss

This is one of the exciting carnival games you can set up. Choose an area in your backyard where you can drive some sticks. Put markers on where the kids can stand. Prepare rings that the kids can shoot on the sticks.

You can think of more games, but be sure to prepare lots of tickets and different items for your prize booth. You can provide crayons, markers, stickers, toy cars, pens, pencils, and other nifty items for children.

Are you excited about your carnival-themed kid's party? We are too! Best of luck and happy organizing!
